Monreale FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Frank Cavallaro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Donato Lemme acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 7th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Christian Riccardi. Dario Cattaneo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. Donato Lemme tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Boara Pisani's Dario Cattaneo got a good chance for a goal in the 14th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Aldo Caiola fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Donato Lemme having to interfere. In the 21st minute, Dario Cattaneo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Aldo Caiola in the 23rdth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Donato Lemme, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Dave Gaeta hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. Monreale FC's Donato Lemme played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dario Cattaneo in the 40th minute of play. 48 minutes into the match, Monreale FC's goal looked a bit too open when Dario Cattaneo came free, but Donato Lemme reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ernesto Evangelista stepped up to make the kick off in the second half.
