After 16 minutes, Fulvio Pagliuca mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Latina Scalo and the Valleandona FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. If Eugenio Pittelli had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 24th minute, Eugenio Pittelli managed to get in a good position for a shot. Valleandona FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Eugenio Pittelli was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ernesto Pascali breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aldo Brillante in the 27th minute of play forced Valleandona FC's goalkeeper Anfilogino De Tommasi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 31st minute Carlo Cavanna shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Anfilogino De Tommasi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Aldo Brillante to make the kick off. When Alberto Taddeo came up free with the goalie in the 52nd minute, the Valleandona FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alberto Taddeo couldn't finish the play. In the 54th match minute, Latina Scalo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Armando Santovito to maneuver through the defense. Ernesto Pascali showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cosimo Romagnoli, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cosimo Romagnoli in the 90th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ernesto Pascali saved Latina Scalo from getting behind. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Latina Scalo eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
