Bruno Scarpa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dino Spione in the 11th minute of the match. When Dennis Tabacco fell near the penalty area in the 15th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Gorizia's protests and gave Dennis Tabacco a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Gorizia's Dennis Tabacco got a free kick in the 15th minute. Andrea Zaccardi's late challenge caught a Paderno Dugnano AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Andrea Zaccardi helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Gorizia getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Andrea Zaccardi hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 20th minute, Alberto Di Felice managed to get in a good position for a shot. Paderno Dugnano AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Alberto Di Felice was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Bruno Scarpa breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a defensive mix-up in Paderno Dugnano AFC's zone, Aurelio Ferraro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Aurelio Marcantonio came out of the goal and Aurelio Ferraro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Alberto Di Felice fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bruno Scarpa having to interfere. After 32 minutes of play Gorizia's Andrea Zaccardi was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. After a rather tough play, Gorizia's Andrea Zaccardi got a free kick in the 33rd minute. Aldo Saturno was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 37 minutes into the match. In the 46thth minute of the game Dino Spione who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Gorizia's Bruno Scarpa was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When Dino Spione came up free with the goalie in the 49th minute, the Paderno Dugnano AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dino Spione couldn't finish the play. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Dennis Tabacco was the one to do the kick off. Dino Spione fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bruno Scarpa having to interfere. In the 57th minute the ball was on its way in behind Gorizia's goalkeeper Bruno Scarpa, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Paderno Dugnano AFC's Dino Spione got a good chance for a goal in the 59th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Bruno Scarpa made a fantastic save in the 63rd minute, when Alberto Di Felice sent off a good shot on target. Alberto Di Felice fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bruno Scarpa having to interfere. Aldo Cappucci kicked well hit freekick during the 76th minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Amedeo Rea during the 80th minute. Gorizia's Bruno Scarpa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dino Spione in the 98th minute of play.
