Franco Marinacci was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 7th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Ettore De Tommasi kicked well hit freekick during the 10th minute of the match. 20 minutes into the match, Triggiano AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Anfilogino Petrini came free, but Antonello Micucci reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Triggiano AFC's Antonello Micucci proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 24th minute of the match, managed to save Triggiano AFC from getting a goal against them. Anfilogino Petrini received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. When Bernardo Pili came up free with the goalie in the 35th minute, the Triggiano AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bernardo Pili couldn't finish the play. In the 42nd minute, Christian Lepori made a precise shot to the right of Emiliano Traini. Verucchio's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. Emiliano Traini came out of the goal in the 47th minute to try and stop a shot by Triggiano AFC's Claudio Antonioni. But to his dismay, Claudio Antonioni quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-2. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Claudio Antonioni to make the kick off. The supporters of Triggiano AFC booed when Verucchio was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bruno Iezzi didn't get a good kick on the ball. The Triggiano AFC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Antonello Micucci should have stopped the shot.
