The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Franco Cipriani during the 2nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Calvizzano FC getting a freekick after 2 minutes play. Franco Cipriani hit a great ball. After 9 played minutes Calvizzano FC got a freekick which was hit by Franco Cipriani. Calvizzano FC's Armin Pocobello played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eraldo Costanzo in the 17th minute of play. Felice La Marca's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 20thth minute, Antonio Tomasso skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. After 23 minutes of play, Bagazzano AFC's Attilio Mei made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Armin Pocobello was left in no man's land by his defense there! Carmine Giannantonio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Antonio Tomasso made an important save on a dangerous shot by Felice La Marca in the 31st minute. If Carmine Giannantonio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 34 minutes into the match, Bagazzano AFC's goalkeeper Antonio Tomasso had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Felice La Marca. Eraldo Costanzo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Armin Pocobello read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 35th minute of play. Eraldo Costanzo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Armin Pocobello having to interfere. If Attilio Mei had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 42 minutes into the match, Calvizzano FC's goal looked a bit too open when Attilio Mei came free, but Armin Pocobello reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Attilio Mei in the 43rd minute of play forced Calvizzano FC's goalkeeper Armin Pocobello to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Felice La Marca might have been able to make a better finish in the 45th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Antonio Tomasso. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Felice La Marca ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 46th play minute Felice La Marca came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Antonio Tomasso. 1-1. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Felice La Marca was the one to do the kick off. The supporters of Calvizzano FC booed when Bagazzano AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Anfilogino De Simone didn't get a good kick on the ball. Damiano Pedroni hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. After 54 played minutes Calvizzano FC got a freekick which was hit by Carmine Giannantonio. After having played for 55 minutes, Attilio Mei managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Bagazzano AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Attilio Mei was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Eraldo Costanzo struck a weak shot in the 57th minute. Armin Pocobello didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Bagazzano AFC. 69 minutes into the match, Calvizzano FC's Felice La Marca sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Antonio Tomasso narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Felice La Marca fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Antonio Tomasso having to interfere. Bagazzano AFC's Antonio Tomasso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Felice La Marca in the 80th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 92nd minute, Carmine Giannantonio managed to get in a good position for a shot. Calvizzano FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Carmine Giannantonio was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Antonio Tomasso breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
