San Prospero AFC's Alessandro Schirru proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 7th minute of the match, managed to save San Prospero AFC from getting a goal against them. When Ciccio Ronca fell near the penalty area in the 8th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored San Prospero AFC's protests and gave Ciccio Ronca a yellow card for diving instead. In the 9th minute, Ciccio Ronca hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Boncellino's zone, Aurelio Di Florio stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Diego Sarnelli came out of the goal and Aurelio Di Florio tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 19 minutes into the match, Filippo Mammarella dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Alessandro Schirru, 1-0. A collision led to Boncellino getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Fulvio Melito hit a great ball. When Alfredo Pensa fell near the penalty area in the 25th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Boncellino's protests and gave Alfredo Pensa a yellow card for diving instead. Alessandro Schirru made an important save on a dangerous shot by Arturo Mazzola in the 30th minute. Arturo Mazzola fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alessandro Schirru having to interfere. After some careless play in the San Prospero AFC defense, Filippo Mammarella kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Alessandro Schirru. The San Prospero AFC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Alessandro Schirru should have stopped the shot. An unexpected shot in the 88th minute by Augusto Pasquarelli got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side.
