The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 7 minutes into the match, Felice Brini notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Monteleone's Franco Marinucci. Franco Marinucci was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 10th minute, Fabrizio Stefano made a precise shot to the right of Elia La Marca. Sasso Marconi FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. In the 15th minute, Monteleone's Donato Santagata dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 3-1. In the 20th minute, Donato Santagata hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 20 minutes, Eraldo Polo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sasso Marconi FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Eraldo Polo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Felice Brini came up free with the goalie in the 29th minute, the Sasso Marconi FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Felice Brini couldn't finish the play. Elia La Marca made a fantastic save in the 38th minute, when Fabrizio Stefano sent off a good shot on target. Franco Marinucci showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Felice Brini in the 42nd minute of the match. In the 44th match minute, Monteleone was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Donato Mattioli to maneuver through the defense.

After a defensive mix-up in Monteleone's zone, Felice Brini stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Franco Marinucci came out of the goal and Felice Brini tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 61st minute, Felice Brini got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Felice Brini came up free with the goalie in the 63rd minute, the Sasso Marconi FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Felice Brini couldn't finish the play. After having played for 65 minutes, Fabrizio Stefano managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Monteleone's supporters crossed their fingers, but Fabrizio Stefano was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Damiano Martorella had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 70th minute Felice Brini shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Franco Marinucci saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Eraldo Polo came up free with the goalie in the 84th minute, the Sasso Marconi FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Eraldo Polo couldn't finish the play. In the 89th minute, Camillo Carozza hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 92nd minute Monteleone were awarded a corner. Flavio Proia went to the cornerflag to take it. Monteleone's Flavio Proia was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Elia La Marca in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Cristoforo Giannetta kicked well hit freekick during the 96th minute of the match.
