The Pezzola fans' excitement grew in the 31st match minute when Pezzola's Fedele Santovito looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After a defensive mix-up in Pezzola's zone, Diego Miranda stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Eraldo Bellucci came out of the goal and Diego Miranda tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 43rd minute Comunardo Sacchetti shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eraldo De Bartolo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ennio Zola during the 44th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Vertemate Con Minoprio's Edoardo Zoff got a free kick in the 62nd minute. Diego Miranda received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Eraldo Bellucci tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 76th minute of the game. One of Pezzola:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Vertemate Con Minoprio:s goal. The referee gave Vertemate Con Minoprio a penalty, 78 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Comunardo Maurizi, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Pezzola's Eraldo Bellucci. 3-2. Comunardo Sacchetti recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 83rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With a little luck, Vertemate Con Minoprio's Eraldo De Bartolo got control of the ball when Fedele Santovito tried to sneak it across the goal line. Comunardo Sacchetti sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal.
