An unexpectedly hard shot by Dino Combi in the 8th minute of play forced Montale AFC's goalkeeper Anfilogino Urbani to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 12th minute, Flavio Frasca managed to get in a good position for a shot. Montale AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Flavio Frasca was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Amedeo Genta breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 13th match minute, Niguarda FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Attilio Casiraghi to maneuver through the defense. Flavio Frasca received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Amedeo Genta tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Amedeo Genta showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alex Candeloro in the 15th minute of the match. In the 43rd minute, Alex Candeloro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After having played for 46 minutes, Dino Combi managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Niguarda FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dino Combi was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Elia Picciano hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. Niguarda FC's Dino Combi got a good chance for a goal in the 48th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Dino Combi to strike the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes into the match, Montale AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Dino Combi came free, but Anfilogino Urbani reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Flavio Frasca came up free with the goalie in the 58th minute, the Montale AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Flavio Frasca couldn't finish the play. Amedeo Genta showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Flavio Frasca, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. Ciro Frezza fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Anfilogino Urbani having to interfere. Fabrizio Fioravanti kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. Niguarda FC's Attilio Casiraghi got his second yellow card of the match in the 67th minute. The referee ordered Attilio Casiraghi off the ground. The supporters of Montale AFC booed when Niguarda FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Attilio Casiraghi didn't get a good kick on the ball. With an all-out effort, Montale AFC's Amedeo Genta threw himself towards the right post 69 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Flavio Frasca, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. With a little luck, Niguarda FC's Amedeo Genta got control of the ball when Alex Candeloro tried to sneak it across the goal line. Andrea Sessa hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. In the 80th minute, Alex Candeloro ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Amedeo Genta was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Anfilogino Urbani showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ciro Frezza in the 86th minute of the match. In the 93rd minute Andrea Sessa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Anfilogino Urbani saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Claudio Taraborrelli kicked well hit freekick during the 95th minute of the match. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
