San Lucia's supporters crossed their fingers, but Eraldo Scutti was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Davide De Lucia in the 26th minute of play forced Latina Scalo's goalkeeper Dennis Savini to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to San Lucia getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Dave Lattanzio hit a great ball. The long shot by Fedele Lusi in the 29th minute really tested Antonio Ragusa's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Ferdinando Pio was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 30th minute. Latina Scalo's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Antonello Pili received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Antonio Ragusa came out and tried to block the shot, but Antonello Pili slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 30th minute. Antonello Pili fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Antonio Ragusa having to interfere. 36 minutes into the match, Davide De Lucia notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Latina Scalo's Dennis Savini. Dennis Savini was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Davide De Lucia's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Dennis Savini read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 40th minute of play. Antonello Pili sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.

The wind increased when Eraldo Scutti made the kick off in the second half. Latina Scalo's Dennis Savini proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 56th minute of the match, managed to save Latina Scalo from getting a goal against them. Antonio Ragusa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Antonello Pili in the 60th minute of play. Fausto Di Tullio charged in rather forcefully in the 63rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Fausto Di Tullio the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 63rd minute, Fausto Di Tullio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 64 minutes into the match, San Lucia's Ferruccio Cucci broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. After 67 played minutes San Lucia got a freekick which was hit by Amos Felice. The supporters of Latina Scalo booed when San Lucia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dave Lattanzio didn't get a good kick on the ball. Fedele Lusi took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 70th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Antonio Ragusa. San Lucia's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. 72 minutes into the match, San Lucia's goal looked a bit too open when Antonello Pili came free, but Antonio Ragusa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Through an outstanding action, after 80 minutes, Dennis Savini successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. After some fancy dribbling in the 81st minute, Eraldo Scutti managed to get in a good position for a shot. San Lucia's supporters rose to their feet, but Eraldo Scutti was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dennis Savini breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Dennis Savini showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eraldo Scutti in the 87th minute of the match. The referee felt a red card was in order, 91 minutes into the game, when Fedele Lusi put in a rough tackle. After 90 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Latina Scalo! Davide De Lucia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 99th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dennis Savini having to interfere. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched San Lucia eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
