The audience thought a goal was coming when Armando Di Claudio got free with Carter Gazza in the 18th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 20th match minute, Certenoli AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alvise Chiarelli to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Certenoli AFC's zone, Bruno Marinucci stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Carter Gazza came out of the goal and Bruno Marinucci tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 27 minutes into the match, Vigolo Baselga FC's Armando Di Claudio sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Carter Gazza narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The audience was convinced that Bianco Foddis's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Antonello Marchegiani was relentless in the 31st minute of the game. The supporters of Certenoli AFC booed when Vigolo Baselga FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Florian Di Cintio didn't get a good kick on the ball. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Bruno Marinucci stepped up to make the kick off in the second half.
