Davide Giacchetti struck a weak shot in the 13th minute. Alfonso Zarillo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for San Genesio AFC. San Genesio AFC's Anthony Costacurta played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ettore Grilli in the 27th minute of play. An unexpected shot in the 32nd minute by Daniele Albani got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. After a defensive mix-up in San Genesio AFC's zone, Ettore Grilli stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Anthony Costacurta came out of the goal and Ettore Grilli tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 38 minutes into the match, San Genesio AFC's goalkeeper Anthony Costacurta had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Daniele Albani. After 45 minutes, Ennio Nobile mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the San Genesio AFC and the Roncocesi FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 45th match minute, San Genesio AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ennio Nobile to maneuver through the defense. Anthony Costacurta was a little too slow when Ettore Grilli got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 46th minute. The score was now 1-1. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The wind increased when Ettore Grilli made the kick off in the second half. Alfonso Zarillo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Demetrio Pomponio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience was convinced that Demetrio Pomponio's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Alfonso Zarillo was relentless in the 54th minute of the game. In the 66th minute of the match Arrigo Giampieri sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Alfonso Zarillo skillfully saved the ball. Arturo Salvagnin charged in rather forcefully in the 66th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Arturo Salvagnin the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Roncocesi FC getting a freekick after 66 minutes play. Arturo Salvagnin hit a great ball. San Genesio AFC's Demetrio Pomponio managed to work through Roncocesi FC's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Demetrio Pomponio dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. Alfonso Zarillo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Demetrio Pomponio in the 70th minute of the match. San Genesio AFC's Anthony Costacurta played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniele Albani in the 76th minute of play. Daniele Albani sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 81 played minutes San Genesio AFC got a freekick which was hit by Eraldo Strano. If Ettore Grilli had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 84 minutes into the game, Daniele Albani cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Anthony Costacurta was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Ettore Grilli sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the match had gone on for 92 minutes, Demetrio Pomponio took a quick shot and it went in 2-2 without a chance for Alfonso Zarillo to make any attempt to save it. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
