Diego Negrini showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ciro Fabrizi in the 40th minute of the match. In the 41st match minute, Sanda was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ettore Mucci to maneuver through the defense. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

53 minutes into the match, Sottomarina FC's goal looked a bit too open when Arrigo Cipollini came free, but Diego Negrini reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a little luck, Sanda's Concetto Mastrocola got control of the ball when Flavio Meazza tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ciro Fabrizi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Diego Negrini having to interfere.
