Alberto Cino blasted a shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Franco Dossena having to make a save. 14 minutes into the match, Marsignano AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Dave Tatangelo came free, but Franco Dossena reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cesare Carlucci in the 16th minute of play forced Figline FC's goalkeeper Diego Benarrivo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With an all-out effort, Figline FC's Franco Dossena threw himself towards the right post 17 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Dave Tatangelo, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Diego Benarrivo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cesare Carlucci in the 22nd minute of the match. If Edmondo Baur had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpected shot in the 32nd minute by Alberto Cino got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. When Alberto Cino came up free with the goalie in the 34th minute, the Figline FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alberto Cino couldn't finish the play. Marsignano AFC's Franco Dossena played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dave Tatangelo in the 36th minute of play. In the 37th minute, Figline FC's Alberto Cino dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. Cesare Carlucci took the ball and in the 40 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Diego Benarrivo. Diego Benarrivo dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. Alberto Cino scored 2-1 in the 44th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Franco Dossena, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Franco Dossena showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dave Tatangelo, who was totally free with the ball in the 48th minute.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Dave Tatangelo made a kick off. Edmondo Baur fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Diego Benarrivo having to interfere. After having played for 55 minutes, Alberto Cino managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Figline FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alberto Cino was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Alberto Cino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 59 minutes, Dave Tatangelo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Alberto Cino sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Dave Tatangelo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Franco Dossena having to interfere.
