Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Aldo Cucci kicked off to start the match. 4 minutes into the match, Aldo Cucci dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Flavio Santangelo, 1-0. Bernardo Mazzocchetti sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Beppe Esposito made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alessandro Riccitelli in the 10th minute of play. Alfredo Bartolomucci blasted a shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Beppe Esposito having to make a save. Beppe Esposito took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alessandro Riccitelli, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Bernardo Mazzocchetti kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. Merlaschio's Flavio Santangelo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aldo Cucci in the 22nd minute of play. After having played for 24 minutes, Alfredo Bartolomucci managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Merlaschio's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alfredo Bartolomucci was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Beppe Esposito didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Alfredo Bartolomucci went, in the 30th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. The supporters of Picarelli booed when Merlaschio was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Edmondo Raffa didn't get a good kick on the ball. Flavio Santangelo acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 36th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Ernesto Puja. Picarelli's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Ernesto Puja in the 37th minute. With his leg Flavio Santangelo managed to avoid a goal in the 41stth minute, when Picarelli's Donato Parco fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. If Aldo Cucci had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Alessandro Riccitelli came up free with the goalie in the 47th minute, the Merlaschio fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alessandro Riccitelli couldn't finish the play.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Alessandro Riccitelli to make the kick off. 58 minutes into the game, Dino Ruggieri was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Picarelli's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Merlaschio the free kick. In the 59th match minute, Picarelli was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dino Ruggieri to maneuver through the defense. After 67 minutes of play Picarelli's Dino Ruggieri was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Alfredo Bartolomucci received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Beppe Esposito tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Beppe Esposito made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alessandro Riccitelli in the 73rd minute of play. Flavio Santangelo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Donato Parco in the 74th minute of play. In the 82nd minute, Donato Parco got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Donato Parco received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Flavio Santangelo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 89th minute, Armin Rosetta got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Beppe Esposito made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alessandro Riccitelli in the 93rd minute of play. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
