The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The supporters of Terranegra booed when Caltana FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Amedeo Molinario didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Amos Curti came up free with the goalie in the 17th minute, the Terranegra fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Amos Curti couldn't finish the play. Daniele Carnevale sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 22nd match minute, Caltana FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Frank Ascoli to maneuver through the defense. Carlo Borromeo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniele Carnevale in the 27th minute of play. 28 minutes had been played when some careless play by Caltana FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Antonello Musso was slow to take the kick. During this time Terranegra's players had a chance to rest. In the 37th match minute, Terranegra was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Antonello Musso to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 43rd minute, Frank Ascoli managed to get in a good position for a shot. Caltana FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Frank Ascoli was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Armando Anelli breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Carlo Borromeo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bernardo Taccone, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

Frank Ascoli recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 65th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Frank Ascoli received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Armando Anelli tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Terranegra's Armando Anelli played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Frank Ascoli in the 70th minute of play. When Frank Ascoli came up free with the goalie in the 72nd minute, the Caltana FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Frank Ascoli couldn't finish the play. When Daniele Carnevale fell near the penalty area in the 76th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Terranegra's protests and gave Daniele Carnevale a yellow card for diving instead. Daniele Carnevale kicked well hit freekick during the 76th minute of the match. Armando Anelli showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Frank Ascoli in the 77th minute of the match. In the 81st minute Frank Ascoli shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Armando Anelli saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Augusto Ali received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Armando Anelli tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Amos Curti kicked well hit freekick during the 88th minute of the match. Frank Ascoli struck a weak shot in the 90th minute. Armando Anelli didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Caltana FC. Armando Anelli stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Frank Ascoli's shot from short distance in the 95th minute. In the 97th minute, Amedeo Molinario hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
