Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Carpianello's Achille Crognale started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Casalvolone FC's Enzo Onori proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 7th minute of the match, managed to save Casalvolone FC from getting a goal against them. Alvaro Fioravanti showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ferdinando Marcucci in the 14th minute of the match. After 17 played minutes Carpianello got a freekick which was hit by Armando Cerri. Ercole Sammartino, 18 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. In the 19th match minute, Carpianello was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bianco Crema to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Casalvolone FC getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Dennis Quadrini hit a great ball. Ferdinando Marcucci received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Alvaro Fioravanti tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Andrea Zaino fell near the penalty area in the 25th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Carpianello's protests and gave Andrea Zaino a yellow card for diving instead. After a defensive mix-up in Carpianello's zone, Alfredo Testi stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alvaro Fioravanti came out of the goal and Alfredo Testi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to Carpianello getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Andrea Zaino hit a great ball. Alfredo Testi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 41 minutes of play, Casalvolone FC's Ferdinando Marcucci made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Alvaro Fioravanti was left in no man's land by his defense there! A collision led to Carpianello getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Andrea Zaino hit a great ball. In the 47th minute Ferdinando Marcucci shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alvaro Fioravanti saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The Carpianello players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Casalvolone FC were winning 0-1.
After some fancy dribbling in the 52nd minute, Achille Crognale managed to get in a good position for a shot. Carpianello's supporters rose to their feet, but Achille Crognale was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Enzo Onori breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Alvaro Fioravanti showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Camillo Pala, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. After 61 minutes, Edmondo Balboni mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Casalvolone FC and the Carpianello players grew even worse after the yellow card. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Fedele Pagliuca in the 62nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Enzo Onori prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Alvaro Fioravanti made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ferdinando Marcucci in the 65th minute of play. Fedele Pagliuca fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Enzo Onori having to interfere. If Fedele Pagliuca had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Aurelio Salerno hit a great freekick 81 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Casalvolone FC's zone, Enrico Vanni stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Enzo Onori came out of the goal and Enrico Vanni tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of Carpianello booed when Casalvolone FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 84 match minutes in a wonderful position. Claudio Trentini didn't get a good kick on the ball. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Casalvolone FC eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
