Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Armin Ronconi started the match with the kick off. Armin Ronconi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 4th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Ferruccio Pedroni had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 5th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Genova's Armin Gaspari got a free kick in the 8th minute. Ercolano FC's Elia Calcio got a good chance for a goal in the 9th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Ercolano FC's zone, Enzo Cherubini stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alvise Ronca came out of the goal and Enzo Cherubini tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Alvise Ronca showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ferruccio Pedroni, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. A collision led to Ercolano FC getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Enzo Silvagni hit a great ball. After having played for 26 minutes, Ferruccio Pedroni managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Genova's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ferruccio Pedroni was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Enzo Cherubini fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alvise Ronca having to interfere. Alberto Testi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Domenico Di Placido tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Armin Ronconi in the 36th minute of play forced Genova's goalkeeper Domenico Di Placido to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 37th minute, Corrado Frasca hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Domenico Di Placido showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Armin Ronconi in the 38th minute of the match. The corner led Ercolano FC's Elia Calcio to fire away a dangerous shot which Domenico Di Placido despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Genova's zone, Alberto Testi stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Domenico Di Placido came out of the goal and Alberto Testi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Enzo Cherubini to strike the kick off in the second half. Alberto Testi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ercolano FC's Alberto Testi got a good chance for a goal in the 63rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Alberto Testi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Domenico Di Placido tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Alberto Testi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ercolano FC's Alvise Ronca played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Enzo Cherubini in the 80th minute of play. Ferruccio Pedroni could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 83rd minute of the match, but Alvise Ronca made a huge save. After some fancy dribbling in the 84th minute, Enzo Cherubini managed to get in a good position for a shot. Genova's supporters rose to their feet, but Enzo Cherubini was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Alvise Ronca breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 89 minutes into the match, Corrado Frasca dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Alvise Ronca, 0-1. 94 minutes into the match, Genova's goal looked a bit too open when Alberto Testi came free, but Domenico Di Placido reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The Genova supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Genova would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
