Clavi's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ferdinando Melis was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Ferdinando Melis came up free with the goalie in the 84th minute, the Clavi fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ferdinando Melis couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ettore Spada in the 88th minute of play forced San Benigno's goalkeeper Cristoforo Di Matteo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, San Benigno's Amerigo Lepre got a free kick in the 91st minute. Amerigo Lepre was in a good position and ended up with the ball after San Benigno's free kick, but he didn't get a good hit on the ball and blazed it high and to the right of the goal. Clavi's Dario Andreozzi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alfredo De Amicis in the 94th minute of play. Amerigo Lepre fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dario Andreozzi having to interfere. For all the effort they put into the match, the Clavi players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for San Benigno.
