The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Bruno Melone showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Bruno Melone took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fabio Leone, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Carpena's Bruno Melone played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fabio Leone in the 22nd minute of play. Fabio Leone received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Bruno Melone tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Dario Gaudino breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 40 minutes of play, Carpena's Antonello Ursini made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Dario Gaudino was left in no man's land by his defense there! Diego Cinalli might have been able to make a better finish in the 47th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Bruno Melone. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Diego Cinalli ran back to his position shaking his head.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Antonello Ursini stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After having played for 55 minutes, Antonello Ursini managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Carpena's supporters crossed their fingers, but Antonello Ursini was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Franco Montagna charged in rather forcefully in the 58th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Franco Montagna the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 60th match minute, Carpena was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Franco Montagna to maneuver through the defense. Fabio Leone recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 61st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
