After a rather tough play, Aosta's Cristiano Rondinelli got a free kick in the 7th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Aurelio Gismondi in the 12th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Alfonso Guidoni prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Amerigo Bolli sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Dave Castellani had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, Arnate's Alfonso Guidoni got control of the ball when Amerigo Bolli tried to sneak it across the goal line. A collision led to Aosta getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Cristiano Rondinelli hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 34th minute, Aurelio Gismondi managed to get in a good position for a shot. Aosta's supporters rose to their feet, but Aurelio Gismondi was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Alfonso Guidoni breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In a very dangerous position, a player in Arnate fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 35th minute. Penalty! Federico Potenza scored 1-1 in the 42nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Bernardo Del Duca, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 48th minute, Achille Mannella hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Arnate's zone, Aurelio Gismondi stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alfonso Guidoni came out of the goal and Aurelio Gismondi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Dave Castellani stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Federico Potenza fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bernardo Del Duca having to interfere. If Aurelio Gismondi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When Aosta's Amerigo Bolli in the 61st minute got a chance for a shot 61st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Arnate's goalie prevented a goal. Dave Castellani received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Bernardo Del Duca tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Federico Potenza's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Bernardo Del Duca read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 76th minute of play. Alfonso Guidoni showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aurelio Gismondi, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. Alfonso Guidoni took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Amerigo Bolli, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Bernardo Del Duca made a fantastic save in the 86th minute, when Federico Potenza sent off a good shot on target. Aurelio Gismondi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alfonso Guidoni having to interfere. 90 minutes into the match, Amerigo Bolli notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Arnate's Alfonso Guidoni. Alfonso Guidoni was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Aurelio Gismondi struck a weak shot in the 97th minute. Alfonso Guidoni didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Aosta. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Aosta had won after a very even match.
