To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Amos Cirulli sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Fausto Di Vito recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 36th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to Basaldella AFC getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Arturo Pinti hit a great ball. The referee felt a red card was in order, 41 minutes into the game, when Dario Di Sante put in a rough tackle. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 41st minute of the game. One of Parucco:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Basaldella AFC:s goal. The goalkeeper, Antonello Taurino, was totally fooled by Basaldella AFC's Augusto Cipollini, who 44 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Fausto Di Vito stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Aurelio Ranalli made an important save on a dangerous shot by Fausto Di Vito in the 52nd minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 96th minute, Alberto Cannavacciuolo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Parucco's supporters rose to their feet, but Alberto Cannavacciuolo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Aurelio Ranalli breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
