When Amedeo Savini came up free with the goalie in the 26th minute, the Santa Nicola fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Amedeo Savini couldn't finish the play. In the 29th minute of the match, Aurelio Bertolini tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Armando Sessa saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Emiliano De Gregorio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Armando Tieri in the 34th minute of the match. Emiliano De Gregorio didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Armando Tieri went, in the 36th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. If Armando Tieri had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Formigosa FC's zone, Aurelio Bertolini stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Armando Sessa came out of the goal and Aurelio Bertolini tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpected shot in the 48th minute by Aurelio Bertolini got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Aurelio Bertolini stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aurelio Bertolini in the 53rd minute of play forced Formigosa FC's goalkeeper Armando Sessa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Armando Sessa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Amedeo Savini, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Aldo Borrelli recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 63rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Aurelio Bertolini had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Emiliano De Gregorio made a fantastic save in the 68th minute, when Armando Tieri sent off a good shot on target. Amedeo Savini recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 70th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 72nd match minute, Santa Nicola was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Aldo Borrelli to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aurelio Bertolini in the 76th minute of play forced Formigosa FC's goalkeeper Armando Sessa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 77 minutes, Arrigo Ragusa mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Formigosa FC and the Santa Nicola players grew even worse after the yellow card. Arrigo Ragusa hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. Antonio Borromeo was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 78th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Aurelio Bertolini hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. The supporters of Santa Nicola booed when Formigosa FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Arrigo Ragusa didn't get a good kick on the ball. The long shot by Cristiano Quercia in the 90th minute really tested Emiliano De Gregorio's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Armando Sessa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aurelio Bertolini, who was totally free with the ball in the 94th minute. Emiliano De Gregorio made an important save on a dangerous shot by Armando Tieri in the 95th minute. Santa Nicola's Emiliano De Gregorio proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 96th minute of the match, managed to save Santa Nicola from getting a goal against them. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Formigosa FC eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
