Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Beppe Mattei made the kick off which started today's match. Fedele Bracco kicked well hit freekick during the 5th minute of the match. Ferdinando Lio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 6th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Amedeo Iori stood somewhat misplaced when Ferdinando Lio came free in front of goal and shot 1-0 to the left of him in the 8 minute. In the 12th minute Fortunato Righi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Amedeo Iori saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Mancasale booed when Nova Milanese was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dino Addari didn't get a good kick on the ball. Fabiano Marchegiani showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Beppe Mattei, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. Beppe Mattei's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Fabiano Marchegiani read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 22nd minute of play. Ferdinando Bartolomucci received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Fabiano Marchegiani tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 30 minutes of play, Nova Milanese's Fabrizio Antico made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Amedeo Iori was left in no man's land by his defense there! With a little luck, Mancasale's Amedeo Iori got control of the ball when Fabrizio Antico tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 40th minute, Fabrizio Antico fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Amedeo Iori, passed just outside the right post. Fabiano Marchegiani made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ferdinando Bartolomucci in the 42nd minute of play. Ferdinando Bartolomucci fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fabiano Marchegiani having to interfere. In the 47th minute, Beppe Mattei left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Mancasale fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ferdinando Lio to make the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Mancasale's zone, Ferdinando Lio stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Amedeo Iori came out of the goal and Ferdinando Lio tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 58th minute, Nova Milanese's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Beppe Mattei fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. In the 63rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Mancasale's goalkeeper Amedeo Iori, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Amedeo Iori made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fabrizio Antico in the 67th minute of play. Nova Milanese's Fabrizio Antico got a good chance for a goal in the 73rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ferdinando Bartolomucci's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 75thth minute, Fabiano Marchegiani skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. If Beppe Mattei had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 84th minute, Felice Maurizi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 88 minutes had been played when some careless play by Mancasale's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Dino Addari was slow to take the kick. During this time Nova Milanese's players had a chance to rest. Dino Addari made a great header on Nova Milanese's corner, it was just that Mancasale's Amedeo Iori managed to reach the ball for a save. When Beppe Mattei came up free with the goalie in the 92nd minute, the Mancasale fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Beppe Mattei couldn't finish the play. After having played for 95 minutes, Beppe Mattei managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mancasale's supporters crossed their fingers, but Beppe Mattei was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 98th minute, Beppe Mattei got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Mancasale's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
