Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Palermo's Claudio Bozzo started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Palermo's Claudio Bozzo got a good chance for a goal in the 3rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Enrico Onori recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 12th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Adriano Beattie blasted a shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Felice Busillo having to make a save. After a rather tough play, Cogliate FC's Achille Di Cristofaro got a free kick in the 18th minute. In the 19th minute of the match Fabiano Verdecchia shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Felice Busillo showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After having played for 22 minutes, Fedele Collovati managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cogliate FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Fedele Collovati was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Fedele Collovati succeeded in the game's 24th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 1-0. If Fedele Collovati had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Amos De Vincentis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Fortunato Toppi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Claudio Bozzo in the 41st minute of play forced Cogliate FC's goalkeeper Felice Busillo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Claudio Bozzo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 46th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Fedele Collovati was the one to do the kick off. Fortunato Toppi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Amos De Vincentis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Palermo booed when Cogliate FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alfonso Biavati didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cogliate FC's Felice Busillo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Claudio Bozzo in the 57th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 60th minute, Fedele Collovati managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cogliate FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Fedele Collovati was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Felice Busillo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Claudio Bozzo's shot from short distance in the 94th minute. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Cogliate FC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Palermo had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
