An unexpectedly hard shot by Attilio Cardano in the 9th minute of play forced Bagnoli's goalkeeper Franco Nardi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Bagnoli's Franco Nardi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Attilio Cardano in the 13th minute of play. Sferracavallo's Attilio Cardano got a good chance for a goal in the 18th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Comunardo Cocca had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Sferracavallo getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Emilio Urbani hit a great ball. Franco Nardi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Attilio Cardano, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. The supporters of Sferracavallo booed when Bagnoli was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Corrado Aversa didn't get a good kick on the ball. The supporters of Bagnoli booed when Sferracavallo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Claudio Malinconico didn't get a good kick on the ball. 46 minutes into the match, Comunardo Cocca notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Sferracavallo's Ciro Citrullo. Ciro Citrullo was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Anselmo Ramoser made a kick off. Comunardo Cocca struck a weak shot in the 53rd minute. Ciro Citrullo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Bagnoli. In the 54th minute of the match Alex Pietropaolo sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ciro Citrullo skillfully saved the ball. In the 57th minute, Comunardo Cocca left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Bagnoli fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. Comunardo Cocca sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Comunardo Cocca struck a weak shot in the 67th minute. When Fabrizio Madonna got free in front of the goal in the 79th minute he wasn't very focused and chipped the ball just over the goal. Franco Nardi was delighted since he was out of position and the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. In the 88th minute the ball was on its way in behind Sferracavallo's goalkeeper Ciro Citrullo, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Attilio Cardano recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 93rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Franco Nardi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fabrizio Madonna, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Bagnoli had won after a very even match.
