After a defensive mix-up in Sferracavallo's zone, Filippo Bottone stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ciro Citrullo came out of the goal and Filippo Bottone tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 8 played minutes Fausto Vasco shot from long distance. At first the shot seemed to be simple for Sferracavallo's Ciro Citrullo to catch but Fausto Vasco was lucky. It became 0-1 after the goalkeeper had been careless and dropped the ball into goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Filippo Bottone in the 17th minute of play forced Sferracavallo's goalkeeper Ciro Citrullo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 21 minutes into the match, Fabrizio Madonna dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Angelo Palleschi, 1-2. Angelo Palleschi made an important save on a dangerous shot by Fabrizio Madonna in the 32nd minute. Fabrizio Madonna's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Angelo Palleschi read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 42nd minute of play. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.
Ciro Citrullo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Filippo Bottone in the 52nd minute of the match. Filippo Bottone received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Ciro Citrullo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Filippo Bottone in the 57th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ciro Citrullo saved Sferracavallo from getting behind. Attilio Cardano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. When Attilio Cardano came up free with the goalie in the 61st minute, the Sferracavallo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Attilio Cardano couldn't finish the play. Filippo Bottone blasted a shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ciro Citrullo having to make a save. Filippo Bottone recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 69th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Attilio Cardano in the 70th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Angelo Palleschi saved Ancognano AFC from getting behind. Dino Giorgi hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. Biagio Capobianco recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 75th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Filippo Bottone was extremely unlucky when he, in the 78th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Fabrizio Madonna sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Fabrizio Madonna received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Angelo Palleschi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Angelo Palleschi didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Fabrizio Madonna went, in the 87th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-2 was the resulting score. Sferracavallo's Ciro Citrullo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 97th minute of the match, managed to save Sferracavallo from getting a goal against them. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Ancognano AFC eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
