Achille Visintin charged in rather forcefully in the 35th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The supporters of San Mauro Pascoli FC booed when Sarmeola was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Flavio Di Marco didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Emilio Bottega had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Sarmeola's zone, Ferdinando Salerni stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fortunato Cericola came out of the goal and Ferdinando Salerni tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Arturo Bordon hit a great freekick 81 minutes into the match. Emilio Bottega sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Adriano Giovannelli fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Andrea Abete having to interfere.
