Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Flavio Di Marco took the kick off in the first half of the match. 7 minutes in the game, Adriano Meo fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Fortunato Cericola having to interfere. Cristoforo Di Donato charged in rather forcefully in the 8th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Cristoforo Di Donato the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Cristoforo Di Donato kicked well hit freekick during the 8th minute of the match. Andrea Salerno took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Flavio Di Marco, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 13 minutes, Bernardo Miconi mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Piazza and the Sarmeola players grew even worse after the yellow card. Bernardo Miconi kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. Andrea Salerno showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adriano Giovannelli, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. Flavio Di Marco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Andrea Salerno having to interfere. 18 minutes into the game, Sarmeola's Adriano Giovannelli nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Andrea Salerno made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Adriano Giovannelli sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 22nd match minute, Piazza was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dennis Pan to maneuver through the defense. Adriano Meo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fortunato Cericola having to interfere. Flavio Di Marco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Andrea Salerno having to interfere. Adriano Giovannelli took the ball and in the 32 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Andrea Salerno. Piazza's Antonello Cellucci managed to work through Sarmeola's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Antonello Cellucci dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. In the 40th minute the ball was on its way in behind Sarmeola's goalkeeper Fortunato Cericola, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Alfredo Formaggio kicked well hit freekick during the 46th minute of the match. In the 47th minute Adriano Giovannelli shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Andrea Salerno saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Adriano Meo to make the kick off. Adriano Giovannelli fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Andrea Salerno having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Piazza's zone, Adriano Giovannelli stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Andrea Salerno came out of the goal and Adriano Giovannelli tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 67 played minutes Piazza got a freekick which was hit by Bernardo Miconi. In the 68th minute of the match Anthony Corvo shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Andrea Salerno showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 74th match minute, Piazza was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Adriano Meo to maneuver through the defense. In the 77th match minute, Sarmeola was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Arturo Bordon to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Sarmeola booed when Piazza was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ettore Marongiu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Adriano Giovannelli received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Andrea Salerno tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Flavio Di Marco struck a weak shot in the 87th minute. Andrea Salerno didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sarmeola. After 89 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Piazza! Andrea Salerno went to the wrong direction when Anthony Corvo was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. After a rather tough play, Sarmeola's Flavio Di Marco got a free kick in the 93rd minute. Antonello Cellucci sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Sarmeola supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Sarmeola would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
