The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Adriano Benarrivo took the ball and in the 5 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Dario Giovannelli. Dario Giovannelli dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. When Fulvio Villani fell near the penalty area in the 12th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Lumellogno AFC's protests and gave Fulvio Villani a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Vedano Al Lambro booed when Lumellogno AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fulvio Villani didn't get a good kick on the ball. Antonello Battisti's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Camillo Maietta read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 19th minute of play. Dario Giovannelli made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Amedeo Citrullo in the 25th minute of play. Adriano Benarrivo struck a weak shot in the 26th minute. Dario Giovannelli didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Vedano Al Lambro. Lumellogno AFC's Dario Giovannelli played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adriano Benarrivo in the 29th minute of play. If Concetto De Leonardis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 39 minutes into the match, Vedano Al Lambro's goal looked a bit too open when Antonello Battisti came free, but Camillo Maietta reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Antonello Battisti in the 40th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Camillo Maietta saved Vedano Al Lambro from getting behind. Concetto De Leonardis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Camillo Maietta having to interfere. Antonello Battisti sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.

After 53 minutes of play, Lumellogno AFC's Concetto De Leonardis made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Camillo Maietta was left in no man's land by his defense there! After a rather tough play, Lumellogno AFC's Flavio Brunelli got a free kick in the 62nd minute. The attack was good, but when Adriano Benarrivo in the 63rd minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. 71 minutes into the match, Lumellogno AFC's goalkeeper Dario Giovannelli had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Adriano Benarrivo. An unexpectedly hard shot by Antonello Battisti in the 75th minute of play forced Vedano Al Lambro's goalkeeper Camillo Maietta to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 77th minute, Antonello Battisti made a precise shot to the right of Camillo Maietta. Vedano Al Lambro's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-2. Antonello Battisti sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Lumellogno AFC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Vedano Al Lambro had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
