The audience thought a goal was coming when Arrigo Pantani got free with Bernardo Di Mascio in the 3rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Daniele Di Clemente showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Enrico Cherubini, who was totally free with the ball in the 5th minute. Arrigo Pantani received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 6th minute. Bernardo Di Mascio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Fortunato Guerrieri hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. 13 minutes into the game, one of Montenotte Supp:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. When the match had been going on for 14 minutes, Rivale AFC's Domenico De Grandis got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Bernardo Di Mascio. Montenotte Supp's Enrico Cherubini got a good chance for a goal in the 17th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Daniele Di Clemente stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Fausto Spinosa's shot from short distance in the 19th minute. After some careless play in the Rivale AFC defense, Fausto Spinosa kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Daniele Di Clemente. The Rivale AFC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Daniele Di Clemente should have stopped the shot. Fabiano Pavlu hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. In the 32nd minute, Fortunato Guerrieri hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Daniele Di Clemente showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Cristoforo Santalucia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bernardo Di Mascio having to interfere. Domenico De Grandis hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. Daniele Di Clemente made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fausto Spinosa in the 66th minute of play. Emiliano Scudieri kicked well hit freekick during the 71st minute of the match. When Fausto Spinosa came up free with the goalie in the 73rd minute, the Montenotte Supp fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fausto Spinosa couldn't finish the play. Enrico Cherubini received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Daniele Di Clemente tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 76th minute, Fausto Spinosa made a precise shot to the right of Daniele Di Clemente. Rivale AFC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. Arrigo Pantani sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
