After 2 minutes, Concetto La Marca mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Lucinico and the Volla players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 5th minute, Emanuele Bertini left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Lucinico fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Antonio Bondi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Emanuele Bertini in the 12th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Andrea Leopardi saved Volla from getting behind. In the 17th minute the ball was on its way in behind Lucinico's goalkeeper Demetrio Cacciatore, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Andrea Leopardi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Antonio Bondi, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. When the match had gone on for 34 minutes, Donato Carota took a quick shot and it went in 2-2 without a chance for Demetrio Cacciatore to make any attempt to save it. Donato Carota sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Antonio Bondi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Andrea Leopardi having to interfere. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Emanuele Bertini to strike the kick off in the second half. Demetrio Cacciatore made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Donato Carota in the 54th minute of play. In the 57th minute, Carter Fata got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Volla's Donato Carota got a good chance for a goal in the 58th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Antonio Bondi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Andrea Leopardi having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Lucinico's Alfonso Santini got a free kick in the 67th minute. When Volla's Donato Carota, in the 68th minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for Volla. The audience was convinced that Donato Carota's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Demetrio Cacciatore was relentless in the 70th minute of the game. If Carter Fata had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd rose to their feet as Emanuele Bertini kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Andrea Leopardi. That made the score 2-3 in the 81 minute of play. 85 minutes into the match, Volla's goal looked a bit too open when Emanuele Bertini came free, but Andrea Leopardi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Donato Carota fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Demetrio Cacciatore having to interfere. Carter Fata received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 99th minute. Demetrio Cacciatore tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Lucinico's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
