The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Diego Calcio was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 3rd minute. Montecelio's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. 5 minutes into the match, Montecelio's Francesco Buccella sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Cesare Demaria narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Fabio Di Liddo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 6th minute. Ciro Di Domenico tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cesare Demaria made an important save on a dangerous shot by Diego Calcio in the 10th minute. Montecelio's Ciro Di Domenico played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fabio Di Liddo in the 18th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 20th minute, Francesco Buccella managed to get in a good position for a shot. Montecelio's supporters rose to their feet, but Francesco Buccella was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cesare Demaria breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 22 minutes into the game, Montecelio's Diego Calcio nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Cesare Demaria made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. After 25 played minutes Vecchiazzano got a freekick which was hit by Fabio Di Liddo. After 29 minutes, Emiliano Talamo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Montecelio and the Vecchiazzano players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Montecelio getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Emiliano Talamo hit a great ball. When Montecelio's Francesco Buccella in the 32nd minute got a chance for a shot 32nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Vecchiazzano's goalie prevented a goal. Vecchiazzano's Cesare Demaria played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Francesco Buccella in the 43rd minute of play. The supporters of Vecchiazzano booed when Montecelio was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 48 match minutes in a wonderful position. Antonello Palumbo didn't get a good kick on the ball. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Francesco Buccella made the kick off in the second half. Federico Di Lullo hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. Aldo Di Maio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 61st minute, Armin Biagetti hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 62ndth minute of the game Francesco Buccella who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Vecchiazzano's Cesare Demaria was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Camillo Tenaglia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Ciro Di Domenico tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Aldo Di Maio came up free with the goalie in the 66th minute, the Vecchiazzano fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Aldo Di Maio couldn't finish the play. A collision led to Montecelio getting a freekick after 73 minutes play. Francesco Buccella hit a great ball. When Vecchiazzano's Fabio Di Liddo in the 74th minute got a chance for a shot 74th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Montecelio's goalie prevented a goal. After a rather tough play, Montecelio's Beppe Valeriani got a free kick in the 78th minute. If Fabio Di Liddo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 85 minutes into the match, Diego Calcio notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Vecchiazzano's Cesare Demaria. Cesare Demaria was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Cesare Demaria took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Diego Calcio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 92nd minute, Montecelio's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Aldo Di Maio fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. The attack was good, but when Fabio Di Liddo in the 92nd minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. In the 95th minute, Diego Calcio got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Montecelio had won after a very even match.
