But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Frank Cristofari couldn't finish the play. Ciro Pari received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Alfonso Ciccarelli tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Enzo Manzoli had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Attilio Manzoli in the 47th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Flavio Lauria prevented the ball from getting in the gole.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Enzo Manzoli stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After having played for 53 minutes, Enzo Manzoli managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Castelnuovo's supporters crossed their fingers, but Enzo Manzoli was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 54 minutes into the game, Alberto Alfieri was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Migliandono's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Castelnuovo the free kick. After 54 played minutes Migliandono got a freekick which was hit by Alberto Alfieri. 55 minutes in the game, Enzo Manzoli fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Flavio Lauria having to interfere. In the 61st minute of the match Andrea Uguccioni sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Flavio Lauria skillfully saved the ball. Attilio Cieri's late challenge caught a Castelnuovo's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Attilio Cieri helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Castelnuovo booed when Migliandono was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. The referee gave Alberto Alfieri a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. A collision led to Migliandono getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. After 72 played minutes Migliandono got a freekick which was hit by Ercole Raimondi. Castelnuovo's Attilio Manzoli got a good chance for a goal in the 79th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Flavio Lauria showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Enzo Manzoli in the 83rd minute of the match. If Enzo Manzoli had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ernesto Franceschini kicked well hit freekick during the 86th minute of the match. Flavio Lauria stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Enzo Manzoli's shot from short distance in the 87th minute. Castelnuovo's Enzo Manzoli got a good chance for a goal in the 89th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 92 minutes of play, Migliandono's Frank Cristofari made it 3-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Alfonso Ciccarelli was left in no man's land by his defense there! The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Migliandono fans cheered their team off the field, for while Castelnuovo had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
