Spectators: 33 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Alessio Scarpa started the match with the kick off. Armando Cirulli blasted a shot towards the goal in the 3rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Alvise Cino having to make a save. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Corrado Mazzone during the 11th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 11th minute, Corrado Mazzone hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 13th minute, Arturo Angelucci hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Alvise Cino showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Armando Cirulli, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. 19 minutes in the game, Antonio Cordone got a free kick from a good position and fired away a shot. The shot didn't have enough spin and went out of bounds to the left of the goal. Pigozzo's defense didn't have a chance, in the 21st minute, when Ermanno Andreoli scored to the left of an out of position Diego Di Cristofaro, making the score, 1-0. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Armando Cirulli in the 28th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Alvise Cino saved Castagnaretta AFC from getting behind. When Antonio Cordone came up free with the goalie in the 31st minute, the Castagnaretta AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Antonio Cordone couldn't finish the play. Armando Cirulli fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alvise Cino having to interfere. 38 minutes into the match, Pigozzo's goalkeeper Diego Di Cristofaro had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Corrado Mazzone. Ermanno Andreoli received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Diego Di Cristofaro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 48th minute Antonio Cordone shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Diego Di Cristofaro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Antonio Cordone to make the kick off. Diego Di Cristofaro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ermanno Andreoli, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. An unexpected shot in the 53rd minute by Armando Cirulli got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. If Armando Cirulli had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ermanno Andreoli fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Diego Di Cristofaro having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Achille Valerio during the 63rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Diego Di Cristofaro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ermanno Andreoli in the 68th minute of play. Alvise Cino made an important save on a dangerous shot by Armando Cirulli in the 75th minute. 76 minutes into the match, Pigozzo's goal looked a bit too open when Antonio Cordone came free, but Diego Di Cristofaro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ermanno Andreoli recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 77th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Armando Cirulli received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Alvise Cino tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Concetto Biagetti fell near the penalty area in the 86th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Pigozzo's protests and gave Concetto Biagetti a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Pigozzo's Concetto Biagetti got a free kick in the 86th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 91st minute, Achille Valerio managed to get in a good position for a shot. Castagnaretta AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Achille Valerio was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Diego Di Cristofaro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. For all the effort they put into the match, the Pigozzo players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Castagnaretta AFC.
