Ermanno Giammarino showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniele Muto, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. Ermanno Giammarino didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Cristiano Barone went, in the 15th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. 19 minutes into the match, Monte Maggio's goal looked a bit too open when Cristiano Barone came free, but Ermanno Giammarino reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Candiolo getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Ercole Penna hit a great ball. If Ettore Firmani had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ermanno Giammarino made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniele Muto in the 30th minute of play. 32 minutes into the match, Cristiano Barone had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ermanno Giammarino. Monte Maggio's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Cristiano Barone was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. In the 39th minute the ball was on its way in behind Monte Maggio's goalkeeper Ermanno Giammarino, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The supporters of Monte Maggio booed when Candiolo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ercole Penna didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cristiano Barone sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Elia Finocchi couldn't finish the play. Filippo Ottaviani's late challenge caught a Candiolo's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Filippo Ottaviani helped the player get up and apologised. Filippo Ottaviani hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ettore Firmani in the 68th minute of play forced Candiolo's goalkeeper Edoardo Ceccarelli to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Candiolo walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
