The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Arrigo Giacchetti received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 4th minute. Angelo Fava tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 7 played minutes Lomazzo got a freekick which was hit by Emiliano Taglieri. 11 minutes into the match, Rivabella FC's goal looked a bit too open when Arrigo Giacchetti came free, but Angelo Fava reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Emiliano Taglieri could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 12th minute of the match, but Angelo Fava made a huge save. 14 minutes into the match, Rivabella FC's goal looked a bit too open when Arrigo Giacchetti came free, but Angelo Fava reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 16th minute, Ciccio Di Giuseppe ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Fabrizio Giolo was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Angelo Fava made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arrigo Giacchetti in the 20th minute of play. Lomazzo's Fabrizio Giolo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Elia Baratta in the 23rd minute of play. A collision led to Rivabella FC getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Fabio Pedrelli hit a great ball. Angelo Fava took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Arrigo Giacchetti, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the match had gone on for 40 minutes, Arrigo Giacchetti took a quick shot and it went in 1-1 without a chance for Angelo Fava to make any attempt to save it. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Emiliano Taglieri might have been able to make a better finish in the 53rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Angelo Fava. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Emiliano Taglieri ran back to his position shaking his head. Arrigo Giacchetti took the ball and in the 54 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Angelo Fava. Angelo Fava dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. Arrigo Giacchetti sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Arrigo Giacchetti received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Angelo Fava tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 71 played minutes Lomazzo got a freekick which was hit by Daniele Di Leonardo. Ciccio Di Giuseppe struck a weak shot in the 72nd minute. Fabrizio Giolo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Rivabella FC. Ciccio Di Giuseppes short, quick shot in the 74thth minute got Fabrizio Giolo to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Arrigo Giacchetti fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Angelo Fava having to interfere. Fabio Pedrelli hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. Ciccio Di Giuseppe sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Emiliano Taglieri sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Arrigo Giacchetti recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 90th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Emiliano Taglieri in the 92nd minute of play forced Rivabella FC's goalkeeper Angelo Fava to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Emiliano Taglieri had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. For all the effort they put into the match, the Rivabella FC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Lomazzo.
