The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Franco Laurenti struck a weak shot in the 5th minute. In the 16th minute, Adriano Migliorati got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ernesto Cappucci showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cosimo Patricelli in the 20th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Alfaterna's Corrado Riso got a free kick in the 22nd minute. 25 minutes into the game, one of Alfaterna:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. 33 minutes into the game, Alfaterna's Franco Laurenti nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Angelo Zoccali made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Franco Laurenti received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Angelo Zoccali tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 46th minute Bianco Zacchia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ernesto Cappucci saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ernesto Cappucci didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Adriano Migliorati went, in the 48th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Franco Laurenti made a kick off. Ernesto Cappucci showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adriano Migliorati, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. Ernesto Cappucci made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bianco Zacchia in the 55th minute of play. The supporters of Alfaterna booed when Acilia AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cosimo Patricelli didn't get a good kick on the ball. Enzo Mercuri fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Angelo Zoccali having to interfere. Corrado Riso got his second yellow card in the match during the 66th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. After 68 played minutes, Acilia AFC's Ermanno Sammartino shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Ernesto Cappucci came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Acilia AFC reached it. Bianco Ippoliti kicked well hit freekick during the 70th minute of the match. When Adriano Migliorati came up free with the goalie in the 72nd minute, the Acilia AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Adriano Migliorati couldn't finish the play. Adriano Migliorati struck a weak shot in the 73rd minute. Ernesto Cappucci didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Acilia AFC. Cosimo Vago lost his temper 77 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. The referee gave Alfaterna a penalty, 79 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Aldo Conte, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Acilia AFC's Angelo Zoccali. 2-2. Bianco Ippoliti kicked well hit freekick during the 84th minute of the match. Acilia AFC's Angelo Zoccali proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 89th minute of the match, managed to save Acilia AFC from getting a goal against them. After 91 played minutes Acilia AFC got a freekick which was hit by Adriano Migliorati. Enzo Mercuris short, quick shot in the 94thth minute got Angelo Zoccali to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in.
