Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Comunardo Valcareggi made a kick off. After a rather tough play, Olengo's Anfilogino Di Placido got a free kick in the 52nd minute. After a defensive mix-up in Olengo's zone, Fabrizio Carciofo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Amos Morandin came out of the goal and Fabrizio Carciofo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fabrizio Carciofo in the 58th minute of play forced Olengo's goalkeeper Amos Morandin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 59th minute, Fabrizio Carciofo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Amos Morandin was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. After 62 played minutes Olengo got a freekick which was hit by Edmondo Serra. 68 minutes into the match, Comunardo Valcareggi had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Amos Morandin. Olengo's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Comunardo Valcareggi was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. If Fabrizio Carciofo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 73 played minutes Olengo got a freekick which was hit by Carlo Rullo. The audience was convinced that Carmine Giampieri's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Amos Morandin was relentless in the 76th minute of the game. Us Lecce Salento walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
