Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 5 minutes, Anfilogino Soccio mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the LONGESE and the Avegno players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, LONGESE's Anfilogino Soccio got a free kick in the 5th minute. Cesare Lattanzio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Anselmo Colombi, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. When Bianco Calabrese came up free with the goalie in the 13th minute, the LONGESE fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bianco Calabrese couldn't finish the play. Eugenio Miranda showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bianco Calabrese, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. Anselmo Colombi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Cesare Lattanzio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Anselmo Colombi came up free with the goalie in the 22nd minute, the Avegno fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Anselmo Colombi couldn't finish the play. After having played for 23 minutes, Ercole Negri managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Avegno's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ercole Negri was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Eugenio Miranda showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bianco Calabrese, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. When Anselmo Colombi came up free with the goalie in the 32nd minute, the Avegno fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Anselmo Colombi couldn't finish the play. A collision led to LONGESE getting a freekick after 33 minutes play. Anfilogino Soccio hit a great ball. Ercole Negri sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Ercole Negri came up free with the goalie in the 39th minute, the Avegno fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ercole Negri couldn't finish the play. Avegno's Ercole Negri got a good chance for a goal in the 41st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 45th minute of the match, Anselmo Colombi tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Cesare Lattanzio saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. In the 45th match minute, LONGESE was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Donato Lo Iacono to maneuver through the defense. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Anselmo Colombi to make the kick off. Eugenio Miranda made a fantastic save in the 53rd minute, when Bianco Calabrese sent off a good shot on target. The crowd rose to their feet as Biagio Cinalli kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Eugenio Miranda. That made the score 0-1 in the 56 minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Biagio Cinalli in the 59th minute of play forced Avegno's goalkeeper Eugenio Miranda to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cesare Lattanzio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ercole Negri in the 64th minute of play. Avegno's Ercole Negri got a good chance for a goal in the 68th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. LONGESE's Anfilogino Soccio got his second yellow card of the match in the 76th minute. The referee ordered Anfilogino Soccio off the ground. In the 77th minute, Anfilogino Soccio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Anselmo Colombi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Cesare Lattanzio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cesare Lattanzio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ercole Negri, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. LONGESE's Cesare Lattanzio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ercole Negri in the 84th minute of play. 89 minutes into the match, Avegno's Ercole Negri sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Cesare Lattanzio narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 93rd minute, Anselmo Colombi made a precise shot to the right of Cesare Lattanzio. LONGESE's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
