After some careless play in the Rebbio defense, Donato Bassani kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ciro Benarrivo. The Rebbio fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ciro Benarrivo should have stopped the shot. In the 88th minute Anfilogino Finocchio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fabio Tiburtini saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Rebbio booed when AS Porto Ercole was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aldo Laurenti didn't get a good kick on the ball. The AS Porto Ercole supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing AS Porto Ercole would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
