Alvaro De Rossi made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bernardo Zangari in the 6th minute of play forced Monzoro's goalkeeper Alvaro De Rossi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, Marola's Adriano Alfonsi got control of the ball when Alfredo Gizzi tried to sneak it across the goal line. The supporters of Monzoro booed when Marola was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Florian Castellini didn't get a good kick on the ball. Monzoro's Ercole Molinaro got a good chance for a goal in the 19th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 23rd minute, Amedeo Pierdomenico managed to get in a good position for a shot. Monzoro's supporters rose to their feet, but Amedeo Pierdomenico was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Adriano Alfonsi breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Adriano Alfonsi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ercole Barchiesi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Marola's Adriano Alfonsi proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 26th minute of the match, managed to save Marola from getting a goal against them. Ercole Molinaro could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 33rd minute of the match, but Adriano Alfonsi made a huge save. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Felice Margoni to make the kick off. Felice Margoni received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Alvaro De Rossi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 53rd match minute, Monzoro was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alfredo Gizzi to maneuver through the defense. Marola's Adriano Alfonsi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ercole Barchiesi in the 62nd minute of play. After a rather tough play, Marola's Ercole Malatesta got a free kick in the 88th minute. Fabrizio Di Croce hit a great freekick 89 minutes into the match. Ercole Molinaro's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Adriano Alfonsi read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 91st minute of play. A collision led to Marola getting a freekick after 92 minutes play. Federico Di Muzio hit a great ball. When Ercole Molinaro came up free with the goalie in the 94th minute, the Monzoro fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ercole Molinaro couldn't finish the play. The Monzoro fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Marola were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
