Spectators: 33 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Arturo Di Matteo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eraldo Mandara in the 6th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eraldo Mandara in the 9th minute of play forced Napoli's goalkeeper Arturo Di Matteo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Eraldo Mandara sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 16th minute of the match Demetrio Persichetti shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Arturo Di Matteo showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After a rather tough play, Napoli's Alessio Lepre got a free kick in the 18th minute. In the 32nd minute Emilio Di Carlo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arturo Di Matteo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Alessio Lepre recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 37th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Alex Domenici struck a weak shot in the 39th minute. Alvaro Di Lillo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Napoli. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eraldo Mandara in the 41st minute of play forced Napoli's goalkeeper Arturo Di Matteo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 43 minutes into the match, Napoli's goal looked a bit too open when Eraldo Mandara came free, but Arturo Di Matteo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 44 minutes, Alex Domenici managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Napoli's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alex Domenici was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Emilio Di Carlo to strike the kick off in the second half. 55 minutes into the game, Eraldo Mandara cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Arturo Di Matteo was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Eraldo Mandara was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 68th minute. Borganzo's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Emilio Di Carlo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Arturo Di Matteo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 73 minutes into the match, Napoli's goal looked a bit too open when Emilio Di Carlo came free, but Arturo Di Matteo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Borganzo's zone, Edmondo Chizzo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alvaro Di Lillo came out of the goal and Edmondo Chizzo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Alex Domenici had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Arturo Di Matteo stood somewhat misplaced when Eraldo Mandara came free in front of goal and shot 0-2 to the left of him in the 85 minute. Napoli's Arturo Di Matteo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Emilio Di Carlo in the 95th minute of play. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Borganzo had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
