Eraldo Caroselli received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Cristoforo Ascoli tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Davide Schirru fell near the penalty area in the 16th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored S.S.Velletri's protests and gave Davide Schirru a yellow card for diving instead. In the 17th minute of the match Eraldo Caroselli sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Cristoforo Ascoli skillfully saved the ball. The audience was convinced that Claudio Festuccia's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Cristoforo Ascoli was relentless in the 18th minute of the game. When Davide Schirru came up free with the goalie in the 22nd minute, the S.S.Velletri fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Davide Schirru couldn't finish the play. In the 27th match minute, S.S.Velletri was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Michele Gallo to maneuver through the defense. After 31 played minutes S.S.Velletri got a freekick which was hit by Vasco Donadoni. 36 minutes into the match, S.S.Velletri's goal looked a bit too open when Claudio Festuccia came free, but Cristoforo Ascoli reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Damiano De Rubeis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Emanuele Natalucci having to interfere. Vasco Donadoni's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Emanuele Natalucci read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 41st minute of play. Boguslaw Nakonieczny sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After a defensive mix-up in Borgo Isonzo's zone, Vasco Donadoni stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Emanuele Natalucci came out of the goal and Vasco Donadoni tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Claudio Festuccia stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The audience was convinced that Boguslaw Nakonieczny's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Emanuele Natalucci was relentless in the 52nd minute of the game. In the 55th minute, Boguslaw Nakonieczny got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The audience was convinced that Boguslaw Nakonieczny's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Emanuele Natalucci was relentless in the 69th minute of the game. Boguslaw Nakonieczny recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 73rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Boguslaw Nakonieczny sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Borgo Isonzo's Emanuele Natalucci played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Damiano De Rubeis in the 76th minute of play. In the 77th minute the ball was on its way in behind Borgo Isonzo's goalkeeper Emanuele Natalucci, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Emanuele Natalucci showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vasco Donadoni, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 84th minute, Boguslaw Nakonieczny managed to get in a good position for a shot. S.S.Velletri's supporters rose to their feet, but Boguslaw Nakonieczny was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Emanuele Natalucci breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Vasco Donadoni sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 86th minute, Boguslaw Nakonieczny managed to get in a good position for a shot. S.S.Velletri were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
