Enrico Sacchettis short, quick shot in the 6thth minute got Corrado Cancemi to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. If Enrico Sacchetti had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ponticella's Dario Santarelli played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Florian Paganelli in the 19th minute of play. The supporters of SAITTA booed when Ponticella was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ercole Filippini didn't get a good kick on the ball. 21 minutes into the match, Ponticella's goal looked a bit too open when Florian Paganelli came free, but Dario Santarelli reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 24 played minutes, SAITTA's Franco Filippini shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Dario Santarelli came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in SAITTA reached it. 27 minutes into the game, Enrico Sacchetti lined in a short shot 2-0 behind a frustrated Corrado Cancemi. When the match clock showed 32 minutes, the score became 2-1 when Florian Paganelli sped through Ponticella's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Dario Santarelli. Eugenio Ferretti received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Corrado Cancemi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Dario Santarelli showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Florian Paganelli, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Florian Paganelli to strike the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eugenio Ferretti in the 52nd minute of play forced SAITTA's goalkeeper Corrado Cancemi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Corrado Cancemi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eugenio Ferretti, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Eugenio Ferretti struck a weak shot in the 56th minute. Corrado Cancemi didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ponticella. Corrado Cancemi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Enrico Sacchetti, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After recieving a nice pass, Ponticella's Ercole Terenzi tried to score from far away in the 63rd minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. In the 65th minute Enrico Sacchetti shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Corrado Cancemi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eugenio Ferretti in the 67th minute of play forced SAITTA's goalkeeper Corrado Cancemi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 69 minutes into the match, Fabio Rava notched a goal, 2-2, to the right of Ponticella's Dario Santarelli. Dario Santarelli was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Enrico Sacchetti received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Corrado Cancemi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 75 minutes into the match, Ponticella's Eugenio Ferretti sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Corrado Cancemi narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Eugenio Ferretti might have been able to make a better finish in the 83rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Corrado Cancemi. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Eugenio Ferretti ran back to his position shaking his head. After a defensive mix-up in Ponticella's zone, Fabio Rava stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dario Santarelli came out of the goal and Fabio Rava tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Florian Paganelli had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Eugenio Ferretti received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Corrado Cancemi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Ponticella fully deserved thier win.
