A collision led to Cavriago AFC getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Comunardo Coscia hit a great ball. Felice De Toni sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 36 minutes into the game, Cavriago AFC's Attilio Battisti nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Dennis Ascenzi made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Claudio Di Luzio to strike the kick off in the second half. Attilio Battisti fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dennis Ascenzi having to interfere. Bruno Toppi received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Anfilogino Calabrese came out and tried to block the shot, but Bruno Toppi slotted it home off the left post making it 1-2 in the 56th minute. If Felice De Toni had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dennis Ascenzi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Claudio Di Luzio in the 64th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Claudio Di Luzio in the 66th minute of play forced Mezzavalle FC's goalkeeper Dennis Ascenzi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 67 played minutes Mezzavalle FC got a freekick which was hit by Felice Schiacciacasse. After 69 minutes, Frank Olivieri mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Mezzavalle FC and the Cavriago AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 71st minute, Claudio Di Luzio left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Cavriago AFC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-2. Attilio Battisti struck a weak shot in the 74th minute. Dennis Ascenzi didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cavriago AFC. 78 minutes into the match, Claudio Di Luzio notched a goal, 3-2, to the right of Mezzavalle FC's Dennis Ascenzi. Dennis Ascenzi was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After a defensive mix-up in Mezzavalle FC's zone, Attilio Battisti stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dennis Ascenzi came out of the goal and Attilio Battisti tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Felice De Toni had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Cavriago AFC had won after a very even match.
