In the 8th minute, Concetto Marziali got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ettore Cesareo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Fulvio Di Natale's shot from short distance in the 10th minute. Frank Lampa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Cristoforo De Tommasi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Diego Polito received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Concetto Marziali ran back to his position shaking his head. With a little luck, Basiago FC's Cristoforo De Tommasi got control of the ball when Diego Polito tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Fulvio Di Natale had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After a defensive mix-up in Marina di Ascea's zone, Concetto Marziali stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ettore Cesareo came out of the goal and Concetto Marziali tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to Marina di Ascea getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Fabiano Maiorano hit a great ball. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Frank Lampa to make the kick off. Frank Lampa took the ball and in the 55 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Cristoforo De Tommasi. Cristoforo De Tommasi dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. Cristoforo De Tommasi came out of the goal and Diego Polito tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After having played for 61 minutes, Concetto Marziali managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Basiago FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Concetto Marziali was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Frank Lampa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 71st minute, Concetto Marziali made a precise shot to the right of Ettore Cesareo. Marina di Ascea's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. In the 77th minute of the match Basiago FC got a corner. Marina di Ascea's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Elia Burelli ran over to the corner to take the kick. Frank Lampa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Cristoforo De Tommasi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Marina di Ascea's Ettore Cesareo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 83rd minute of the match, managed to save Marina di Ascea from getting a goal against them. After 85 played minutes Basiago FC got a freekick which was hit by Edmondo Sangermano. In the 86thth minute of the game Frank Lampa who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Basiago FC's Cristoforo De Tommasi was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 89th minute, Diego Polito managed to get in a good position for a shot. Marina di Ascea's supporters rose to their feet, but Diego Polito was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cristoforo De Tommasi breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 90th match minute, Basiago FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Elia Burelli to maneuver through the defense. Cristoforo De Tommasi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Frank Lampa in the 93rd minute of the match. 96 minutes into the match, Marina di Ascea's goalkeeper Ettore Cesareo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Concetto Marziali. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Marina di Ascea had won after a very even match.
