The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Dave Rapone struck a weak shot in the 4th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Tipano's zone, Francesco Bernardini stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Comunardo Tamburrini came out of the goal and Francesco Bernardini tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Achille Ceccon kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Achille Polidori in the 17th minute of play forced Tipano's goalkeeper Comunardo Tamburrini to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Anthony Melani hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. An unexpected shot in the 20th minute by Achille Polidori got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Francesco Bernardini fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Comunardo Tamburrini having to interfere. The supporters of Cesinali booed when Tipano was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Arrigo Roberto didn't get a good kick on the ball. With his leg Comunardo Tamburrini managed to avoid a goal in the 25thth minute, when Cesinali's Achille Polidori fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 27th minute of the match Adriano Chitarroni shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Comunardo Tamburrini showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 30th minute, Arturo De Cesaris made a precise shot to the right of Amos Grieco. Cesinali's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. With a little luck, Tipano's Comunardo Tamburrini got control of the ball when Achille Polidori tried to sneak it across the goal line. Francesco Bernardini sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Comunardo Tamburrini made a fantastic save in the 44th minute, when Achille Polidori sent off a good shot on target. In the 47th minute, Attilio Bravo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Amos Grieco was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. The Cesinali players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Tipano were winning 0-2.

The wind increased when Achille Polidori made the kick off in the second half. Arturo De Cesaris received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Amos Grieco tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Amos Grieco made an important save on a dangerous shot by Attilio Bravo in the 60th minute. Attilio Bravo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 68 minutes into the match, Cesinali's goal looked a bit too open when Arturo De Cesaris came free, but Amos Grieco reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 74 minutes, Attilio Bravo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Tipano's supporters crossed their fingers, but Attilio Bravo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Tipano's Arturo De Cesaris got a good chance for a goal in the 76th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Anthony Melani had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Amos Grieco showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Arturo De Cesaris, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arturo De Cesaris in the 81st minute of play forced Cesinali's goalkeeper Amos Grieco to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Achille Polidori had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Francesco Bernardini had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead.
