Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Fabrizio Camerlengo to make the kick off. 52 minutes into the match, Palermo's goal looked a bit too open when Donato Apolloni came free, but Ferdinando Gaudino reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 54th minute, Arrigo Cicchini managed to get in a good position for a shot. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 62 minutes into the game, Alexander Simone cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Ciro Liaci was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Arrigo Cicchini recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 67th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Arrigo Cicchini's late challenge caught a Palermo's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Arrigo Cicchini helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Palermo booed when Novate Milanese AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Arrigo Cicchini didn't get a good kick on the ball. Florian Mosca fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ferdinando Gaudino having to interfere. Novate Milanese AFC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 86th minute, when Fabrizio Camerlengo scored to the left of an out of position Ciro Liaci, making the score, 1-2. 94 minutes into the match, Palermo's Fabrizio Camerlengo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ciro Liaci narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Palermo's Ferdinando Gaudino played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arrigo Cicchini in the 96th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Alexander Simone got free with Ciro Liaci in the 98th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Flavio Montagna charged in rather forcefully in the 99th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Flavio Montagna the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play.
