Federico Di Nucci fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ferdinando Ruscitti having to interfere. Angelo Scacchi's late challenge caught a isola del liri's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Angelo Scacchi helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of isola del liri booed when Cellatica FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Angelo Scacchi didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpected shot in the 41st minute by Antonello Di Cintio got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. 43 minutes into the match, isola del liri's goal looked a bit too open when Biagio Negrini came free, but Flavio Allegretti reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Angelo Scacchi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Biagio Negrini stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 87th minute, Cellatica FC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Bernardo Di Paolo fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Ferdinando Ruscitti didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Fulvio Di Cola went, in the 91st minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. isola del liri's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
